Eight places
wrapped in silence
The Bragosso is the only boat able to reach them all. It does so calmly, carried by the wind.

Burano
A historic lagoon village of brightly coloured houses, known for its lace-making tradition and its fishing heritage. Today it is one of the most recognisable islands of the Venetian Lagoon.

Torcello
One of the earliest inhabited islands of the lagoon, closely connected to the origins of Venice. Its Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta, founded in 639 and rebuilt in 1008, is among the oldest religious buildings in the Venetian Lagoon.

San Francesco del Deserto
Inhabited since Roman times, the island became a hermitage founded by St. Francis on his return from the Holy Land. Today it hosts a Franciscan monastery and remains one of the quietest places in the lagoon.

Sant'Andrea
A 16th-century octagonal fortress designed by Sanmicheli, rising from the water at the mouth of the lagoon — once the first sea defence of the Italian Republic.

Lazzaretto Nuovo
A whispered chapter of Venetian history. The island and its brick warehouses, inscribed by sailors in the fifteenth century.
Destination available upon request only

Saline Ca' Savio
A stretch of barene and shallow channels at the edge of the lagoon. Herons, egrets and the slow rhythm of the tide, a place where Venice almost disappears and only the water and the wind remain.
Optional: barena stop, anchored refreshment (rinfresco alla fonda), bird watching.

Sant'Erasmo
The largest and most rural of the lagoon islands: vineyards, orchards and the famous carciofaie that have fed Venice for centuries. Sparsely inhabited and silent, the slow rural face of the lagoon.
Optional: barena stop, anchored refreshment (rinfresco alla fonda), bird watching, naturalistic tour with a visit to the carciofaie and local producers.

Poveglia
One of the most distinctive destinations of the southern Venetian Lagoon, known for its former psychiatric hospital and its two nearby octagonal forts. The island can be visited; during the excursion the Bragosso anchors in the roadstead in front of Poveglia together with other boats, for a summer swimming stop in one of the most characteristic waters of the lagoon.
